I’m extremely excited be a part of Tech Field Day (TFD). For those that haven’t heard of this before, Tech Field day allows vendors to present their products and solutions to the public and they provide the platform to publicize the presentation. One key differentiator with TFD to other platforms, is they bring in delegates to perform the duties of audience during these presentations. These delegates come from different backgrounds, specialties, and cultures allowing a discussion with the presenters to help fill in the gaps the presentations may miss, or to double click on a specific area. I’ve been very fortunate in 2021 to be a part of this group. This will be my first in-person event, where I can discuss with the presenters what they are presenting and what could be expanded on.
Now this isn’t just a “hey look at me doing cool stuff” blog, or an announcement to stay tuned, (although definitely stay tuned if you want to see the presentations) but to say that the audience can take part of the presentation whether they are the delegates or not. As a delegate my position is to stand in your shoes, and to speak as I can for you, but its much easier when you engage with me! For example, I took place on a special Cisco presentation, and took questions that were given on Twitter, and asked them to the presenters. This grants the Twitter audience a place in the room.
